BeLoved
Communities of welcome and worship for people with additional needs and their families.
Pilot Parents' Group
For four sessions over February and March we will offer a welcoming space for parents where there are additional needs of any sort in the family. If you have children with additional needs at school or younger (no diagnosis needed), you are welcome to drop in to any or all of our pilot ‘parent gatherings’. Signing up is helpful to help us to plan and set up the space but not essential. The sessions are free of charge.

You are welcome to come alone as a parent/carer, or with your child. Join us for drinks and cake, toys for the little ones and a chance to meet others. We hope to build community and provide a friendly supportive space. Over the sessions we would love to have your feedback as to what would be helpful to you as a parent going forward after the pilot.

Feel free to come tired, exasperated, or just wanting to meet others. You’ll be welcomed as you are and we’d love to see you.
Walk-through of the space
If there is something in particular that would support you or your child please sign up and let us know so we can amend the set up for you.

Please email sleeson@sjbchurch.uk with any questions.
Who we are
BeLoved is a new initiative born out of a heart for people with additional needs and their families. We want to help those in our community access spaces of welcome and spaces of worship.

Meet the team
Hi, I’m Sharon. I taught in an early years setting, becoming the Senco, before moving to teach in a special school. After 17 years in education I took a break to be with my wonderful adopted daughters. More recently I worked at St John’s as Children, school and families worker before changing role to set up BeLoved, bringing together my passion for supporting families and those with additional needs.

Hello I'm Jonny. I’ve been around people with learning disabilities and additional needs for my whole life. Several members of my close family, friends, and neighbours have learning disabilities and life has been immeasurably richer for having them in it! I've been working with The Navigators for the last 15 years, helping university students discover God's unconditional love. I'm excited about being a part of this BeLoved team.

Hi Rosie here, I enjoy rambling, board games, singing and gardening when I can. I’m a retired primary school teacher and I’ve also worked in a special school, and with the National Autistic Society alongside adults. I’ve volunteered at church for over 20 years with children and young families before joining the Beloved team.
